Share with a friend: TODAY'S HEADLINES  |  May 12, 2021 Charleston, Greenville sue Airbnb The Greenville City Council passed a resolution Monday night that permits City Manager John McDonough and city attorney Mike Pitts to join Charleston and other South Carolina municipalities in a lawsuit against Airbnb, Vrbo, Flip Key Inc. and other short-term rental companies. S.C. needs 80,000 workers to fill open roles With tens of thousands of open jobs in South Carolina, the S.C. Chamber of Commerce has created a Workforce Development Survey and is asking employers across the state to respond to better understand why employers are struggling to fill roles. Columbia startup platform works with Charleston company SC Launch Inc. invested in Reporting Xpress Inc., which provides automated reporting solutions for nonprofits. Reporting Xpress users can view and print reports in any format and combine data from multiple systems into a single report. Helping Out for May 12, 2021 The Charleston Parks Conservancy is hosting a Picnic in the Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 22 on the lawn of the Rose Pavilion at Hampton Park. Columbia International University to hold business academy The four-day academy for high school students will be held from July 12-15 and be led by CIU faculty. The curriculum will include leadership training and networking and feature a capstone business project.
