The recipe for these claim this is a rich, sweet square and rather coarse textured. The bottom layer reminds me of a soft granola bar and the top layer is definitely sweet. Ingredients:
- 2 Tablespoons butter or hard margarine
- 2 Tablespoons brown sugar, packed
- 1 Tablespoon Maple sugar (or maple flavored syrup)
- 3/4 cup quick cooking rolled oats
- 2 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 large egg
For the icing:
- 2 Tablespoons semisweet chocolate chips
- 2 Tablespoons butterscotch chips
- 1 Tablespoon smooth peanut butter
Directions:
Melt butter in saucepan.
Stir in next 6 ingredients. Turn into greased 8x4x2 inch foil pan. Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes.
For the icing:
Melt both chips an peanut butter in a saucepan over low heat, stirring often. Smooth over squares.
Cuts into 15 squares.
