🎙️Coming up on Morning Edition: St. Paul's Pilgrim Baptist Church has served as a sanctuary for Black people living in Minnesota for more than a century and a half. The historic church is celebrating 160 years this weekend.

🎧 Coming up at 11 a.m. : Journalist and author Jeannette Walls returns with a much-anticipated third novel. "Hang the Moon" follows a fiery young woman trying to maneuver within her own powerful family in Prohibition-era Virginia.

160 years of sanctuary at Pilgrim Baptist Church

St. Paul's Pilgrim Baptist Church first formed in 1863 when a group of formerly enslaved people, led by a man named Robert Thomas Hickman, began worshiping together. The historic church is celebrating 160 years this weekend.

3M announces more-than-$10 billion settlement of 'forever chemical' cases. Maplewood-based 3M on Thursday announced it's reached a settlement of more than $10 billion to resolve lawsuits over drinking water contaminated by PFAS — so-called "forever chemicals."

House opens impeachment probe of Biden after GOP leaders head off push to vote now. The House of Representatives approved a resolution referring articles of impeachment against President Biden to two committees — slowing down a push from House conservatives to try to remove the president.
