But new studies show climate change can also bring about more infectious diseases. Here's how. The first White House conference on hunger, nutrition and health since 1969 is happening in late September. The Nixon-era conference influenced food policy for the last 50 years, leading to the creation of the big food programs we know today. Many are worried this conference won't live up to the high bar the last one set. Serena Williams won the first match of what could be her last U.S. Open last night. It won't get another opportunity to launch until Friday.
