[via Tampa Police Department] Tampa's police department allows pursuits, but a fatal crash has led to questions about the policy A Tampa police pursuit in March ended when the suspect crashed into another car, killing a 44-year-old Plant City woman.   Tampa's police chief said the chase, which continued far beyond the department's jurisdiction and reached speeds of more than 100 mph, appeared to be in line with policy because the officer recognized the truck had been involved in at least one auto burglary.   Experts say many progressive departments forbid chases involving property crime suspects because it's not worth the risk to the public.   Said one law enforcement trainer: “Were the decisions made that day by the Tampa Police Department in the best interest of the public?
