Scott Applewhite/AP Here's what we're following today: In a largely symbolic move, the Senate will vote on a bill codifying the right to get an abortion. Democrats don't have enough support from Republicans for the vote to pass, but Sen. Amy Klobuchar said the vote was important to show "where everyone stands." Accusations of LGBTQ people "grooming" children have turned the term into a buzzword of right-wing rhetoric. It's an old fear campaign that has a long history in homophobia. The rising costs of housing, food and other necessities are big drivers of inflation. Its effects fall hardest on lower-income Americans, and even though the inflation rate likely eased last month, it won't be enough to reduce the burden. Restaurants have struggled since 2020 to stay afloat during pandemic shutdowns. Americans are dining out again, but inflation is hitting restaurants hard too, with higher rent, labor and supply costs and more budget-conscious customers. Russia's invasion of Ukraine has had seismic repercussions, including a fast-moving refugee crisis, unprecedented sanctions against a major economy and a shakeup of global relationships. We take a look at some of the biggest ways the invasion has changed the world. He called the former President's ban "a morally bad decision." Percy Jackson and the Olympians author Rick Riordan is defending Disney's choice to cast a Black actress as the character Annabeth Chase, who is white in the books. Riordan stressed that the core message of his books is "difference is strength."  Stanford University officials are investigating a noose that was found hanging from a tree on campus and urging anyone with information on the incident to come forward.
