Hello everyone! Another month has passed and we're going into my birthday month, September! I turn 19 this year and it feels so weird since 19 is such a middle year which feels so weird and I don't know how it is going to be but I hope it is a good one!

MY FAVOURITE BOOKS OF THE MONTH:

She Who Became The Sun by Shelley Parker-Chan
If you're looking for a high-stakes book with war, political intrigue, discussions of power, desire and gender with an exceptional plot and complex, morally grey characters that has you enraptured and turning the page, this is definitely the book for you!

POSTS FROM AROUND THE BLOGOSPHERE

Malka @PaperProcrastinators shares what she thinks makes us love tropes and I agree!

May @ForeverandEverly talks about some of her most disappointing reads of the year so far and I loved reading through her reasons as to why she didn't enjoy them. I also took some books off of my TBR so that's great as well!

Sumedha @The WordyHabitat shared 8 blog maintenance tasks to do regularly and it was such a useful post!

Marie @DrizzlesandHurricanes shared some books with little or no romance to read and I can't wait to check them out!

Kal @ReaderVoracious recommended 6 sci-fi beach books to read this summer!

WHAT I DID IN AUGUST

August was a long long month and now that we are at the end of it, I am exhausted and want a month long vacation, but instead I have college starting back up.

I didn't really have much going on in August to be honest but it still felt like I had a lot to do with my beta reads and preparing for college and trying to be very active on Instagram and grow my platform. It was fun, but also kind of burnt me out and there was a time when I really wanted to just take a break but I'm glad I didn't because it's just so hard to get back.

I also stayed at my grandparent's place for a week and had a lot of fun with them! I also met a new friend from college and had so much fun talking to her and I'm glad I got to see her. I also saw my cousin in the beginning of the month and we had a great lunch, so yeah I'm feeling really good about that.

UPDATE ON MY AUGUST GOALS

  • Finish 2 beta reads
Yep, I did this! One of them was paid too and I am so happy I did it!
  • Catch up on reviews
    HAHAHA you thought.
  • Read 3 ARCs
So I read 2 books started 2 more. I did not finish this but I'm still okay with my progress because I'm just not too good with reading on my kindle.
  • Publish 5 blog posts
I did do this and I'm so proud of myself for dong it since I didn't have much inspiration for blogging for a part of the month. I also have started on some blog posts for next month and I'm very happy about that since I won't have that much time with college starting again.
  • Post 4 times a week on Instagram
Meh, I kinda did it but also not but I tried at least?

PLANS FOR SEPTEMBER

I don't really have much planned for September because college starts again and I intend to focus on that. I'm taking 5 classes this semester and it's going to be busy and I'm a little scared as to how I will manage it all, so I am just going to try to be focused and well prepared and hope that it all goes okay, we'll see.

Also it's my birthday on the 16th of September and I think I'll have a small dinner with 5 friends or just go out for dinner with my family. I'm turning 19 this year and I just feel so old but I hope it'll be a good birthday!

I'm also really hoping to go for a small trip at the end of the month and I hope it works out! It'll be with a few friends and it's going to be at a hill station so it'll be nice and cool and hopefully if everything is okay, we get to go and I am excited!

  • Stay up to date with college things
  • Catch up on reviews (or rather, review 4 books since that seems kind of possible)
  • Read 3 ARCs
  • Publish 5 blog posts
  • Post 3 times a week on Instagram
