Share with a friend: TODAY'S HEADLINES  |  May 17, 2021 Siemens completes $26M expansion Siemens, a global technology company that specializes in industrial modernization, infrastructure and mobility, today announced the completion of a 52,000-square-foot facility expansion in Spartanburg County. The $36 million investment in the facility helped support the creation of more than 180 new jobs. PalmettoBaby Grant program returns for 9th year The Future Scholar 529 College Savings Plan is once again celebrating national 529 College Savings Day with the PalmettoBaby Grant Program. All babies born in the state on May 29 are eligible to receive a privately funded grant when their parents open a new Future Scholar savings account by Aug. 31. 600-acre solar farm bound for Anderson County Within months, the first few signs of a county-backed solar farm are set to crop up along 600-acres of farmland along Highway 178. Anderson County Council members unanimously passed an amendment to a fee-in-lieu-of-tax agreement with Anderson Solar Farm LLC. that will lead to a $2.75 million investment. Upstate Giving Spartanburg nonprofit Hub City Animal Project installed a statue of world-famous Chaser the Border Collie at Morgan Square on May 10 to honor the "dog who knows 1,000 words," owned by Wofford psychology emeritus professor John W.
