Siemens completes $26M expansion

Siemens, a global technology company that specializes in industrial modernization, infrastructure and mobility, today announced the completion of a 52,000-square-foot facility expansion in Spartanburg County. The $36 million investment in the facility helped support the creation of more than 180 new jobs.

600-acre solar farm bound for Anderson County

Within months, the first few signs of a county-backed solar farm are set to crop up along 600-acres of farmland along Highway 178. Anderson County Council members unanimously passed an amendment to a fee-in-lieu-of-tax agreement with Anderson Solar Farm LLC. that will lead to a $2.75 million investment.

Spartanburg nonprofit Hub City Animal Project installed a statue of world-famous Chaser the Border Collie at Morgan Square on May 10 to honor the "dog who knows 1,000 words," owned by Wofford psychology emeritus professor John W. Pilley, who trained Chaser to memorize the names of hundreds of toys and later comprehend sentences with multiple grammar elements.
