Nephron to receive $7.9 million in trade secrets case

An Arkansas-based pharmaceutical company and its parent company agreed to the sum and are also permanently enjoined from using confidential information obtained from West Columbia-headquartered Nephron. According to court documents, former Nephron employees used confidential customer information in new jobs at U.S. Compounding Inc.

Following a five-day shutdown, Colonial Pipeline restarted operations Wednesday at 5 p.m. after delivering more than 41 million gallons of gasoline to Spartanburg, Belton, Charlotte and five other East Coast markets.

For the week ending May 8, 3,088 initial unemployment claims were filed in South Carolina, an increase from the 2,856 filed the previous week. On May 6, Gov. Henry McMaster directed the state to terminate all federal unemployment benefits.
