George Brandis is an experienced barrister and politician, having served as Liberal Party Senator for Queensland for 18 years, including the roles of Attorney General and Leader of the Government in the Senate. Since 2018 he has been High Commissioner in London - the equivalent of Australia's ambassador to the UK. As we heard in our recent event with Liz Truss, Australia is a vital ally for the newly independent UK, in terms of trade, security and international co-operation on a host of issues. We will be exploring these topics and more in the course of this live discussion - and putting audience questions to the High Commissioner, as ever.
