June is pretty much in the books now, which means it's time for the Fourth of July holiday (in the US, that is), backyard cookouts, and spontaneous trips to the beach. That indeed sounds like summer, so it's fitting that the tech world is heating up with some sizzling deals. We've been tracking the best July Fourth sales — as well as early Amazon Prime Day deals ahead of next month's shopping event — but we wanted to be sure you didn't miss this week's biggest deal highlights in the world of tech, gadgets, and gaming. Valve kicked off its Steam Summer Sale with its usual bevy of discounts, but also surprised us with the best deal yet on the Steam Deck. Belkin's handy Continuity Camera mount for the iPhone is also $7 off right now, and even GameStop has gotten into the fray with a B2G1 sale on a selection of pre-owned video games that actually aren't terrible (which, you know, is often the case with GameStop). You can find all that and more below. |

The Steam Deck rarely goes on sale, which is why you might want to take advantage of the current deal on the portable gaming PC while you still can. As a part of the Steam Summer Sale, Valve is taking up to 20 percent off the Steam Deck in the US as well as internationally. The base model with 64GB of storage is available right now starting at $359.10 ($40 off), which matches the price we saw when the handheld first went on sale in March. That said, you can save a lot more on the higher-end models. If you need more storage, the 256GB and 512GB models are going for $449.65 ($79 off) and $519.20 ($130 off), respectively. Those are the lowest prices we've seen on either configuration, making it a little easier to justify shelling out for upscale models (since games run fine off cheaper microSD storage). It's also worth noting that highest-end Deck also comes with an anti-glare screen, which reduces some reflections but, we found, was slightly less colorful than the glossy models. |

In addition to Valve discounting tons of digital games for PC, GameStop is discounting physical copies of a variety of pre-owned games for consoles. And now through July 4th, you can buy two, get one free on a selection of pre-owned titles. I know, I know. The pre-owned offers at GameStop are usually more miss than hit, but this one actually seems good if you want to save on some recent triple-A titles. Right now, for example, you can pick up a pre-owned copy of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (for $64.99) and Diablo IV (for $64.99) and get Star Wars Jedi: Survivor for free. Typically, a combo containing those three games would cost you $194.97, meaning you're effectively saving $65. That's just one way to min-max savings on recent titles, though; other qualifying games that will save you a little less include Street Fighter 6 (pre-owned for $54.99), Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Intergrade (pre-owned for $59.99), and Resident Evil 4 (pre-owned for $54.99). |

Those of us who own the M1-powered MacBook Air are probably well aware that while the laptop is fantastic, it suffers from one fatal flaw: its 720p camera is awful. Luckily, Belkin's MagSafe Continuity Camera mount offers a cheap solution. Right now, the Belkin iPhone Mount with MagSafe for Mac Notebooks is on sale at Amazon starting at $22.99 ($7 off), its lowest price to date. You can also buy it in black direct from Belkin for $23.99 when you use promo code 4JULY23. The small, magnetic mount lets you use a MagSafe-equipped iPhone as a webcam. It's pretty easy to set up, too; all you need to do is snap the mount onto the phone and rest it on top of your laptop. You can position it in either portrait or landscape mode once mounted, and even use the built-in hook as a kickstand for your phone when you're finished making video calls. It works with older MacBooks, too, including MacBook Air and Pro models dating as far back as 2018. Read our review. |
