The AI Boogeyman Most people are trying to ignore the pandemic just past because they feel so foolish about how they behaved.  There was layer-upon-layer of missteps on all levels during that episode all of which we will be paying for a long time to come.  Most commentators focus on the government’s missteps and perhaps malfeasance.  But what about a public that for the most part went into panic and over-reaction mode?  Such enabled the government to take all those draconian measures.  Let’s be honest, we treated that virus like it was the boogeyman.  And now comes AI and given some of what I am seeing, we might just be preparing to run the same playbook.
