The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced a partnership agreement with Tingo, marking a significant development for the country's oldest football tournament, currently known as the Federation Cup.
Although the NFF did not disclose the financial details or the duration of the partnership with Tingo, President Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau emphasized that the administration prioritizes integrity and credibility in its relationships over sheer quantity.
Gusau stated, "We took our time to conduct due diligence on the company and we found them to be upright and credible. For us, it is about credibility and integrity. A number of corporates have approached us for partnerships, but we are taking our time to evaluate things."
Expressing his satisfaction with the partnership, Gusau congratulated Tingo for their dedication to making this relationship a reality, believing it to be the start of a promising collaboration between the company and the NFF.
Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, the NFF General Secretary, expressed delight in securing sponsorship for the nation's oldest and most prestigious football championship. He assured that the NFF would go the extra mile to ensure that Tingo receives the appropriate recognition and benefits from the title sponsorship.
Peter Owokolo, the Chief Operating Officer of Tingo, expressed gratitude to the NFF for granting the company the opportunity to engage with Nigerian football at such a high level. He pledged to explore further avenues for positive contributions to the Nigerian game.
"We are honored to be here and to take on the title sponsorship of such a prestigious competition as the Federation Cup. It is a privilege. We are committed to promoting and positively projecting Nigeria Football in every way we can," stated the NFF.
