| | | Meta is making it known that it's not afraid to take on Apple. The company just announced the new Quest 3 virtual reality headset, just days before Apple is set to announce its long-rumored device in this space.
The Quest 3 will cost $500 and is a lighter, more refined take on Meta’s popular Quest 2 from 2019. We still haven’t seen Apple’s VR headset in person just yet, though we should get our first look at WWDC on Monday. The device is rumored to cost around $3,000 and will presumably have many high-end features.
I’m interested to see how the two headsets compare and whether one is more practical than the other. I’ve never had the opportunity to try Meta’s Quest 2, though I’ve seen others use it. It looks a little too bulky for my small head, but I‘ve heard great things about some of the system’s workout games. I wonder how many Apple headsets I’ll see in real life once they’re released. Will this be something people carry around with them or will they leave it at home? Either way, I’m excited to hopefully get to try one out one day.
Keep reading for all the info on the Quest 3, plus CNET's latest news, reviews and so much more.
