| Ralph Jones, right, was born and raised in San Antonio. [Times (1982)] |
| Just before Memorial Day, people in San Antonio gathered to remember a man who shaped the tiny Pasco County city in big and small ways. Ralph Jones, who owned Ralph's San Ann Liquors, was a real estate agent, rancher, entrepreneur and Marine. After fighting in Korea, Jones returned home and stayed there, living out the Marine motto: Semper Fidelis, meaning always faithful. Read more about his life. Here are some obituaries from the past week found in the obits section of the Times and from local funeral homes. Maria Matawaran, 63, "was a devoted employee at Tampa Bay Times since 1999. Maria loved shopping, cooking and spending quality time with her extended family and friends." Willie Clark, 82, of Tampa "was a man with swag, he would wear an outfit for all occasions. Willie loved to travel on cruises and his favorite food was Mullet Fish." Alfred Heiler, 84, of Pasco County "collected friends throughout his life like pressed flowers between the pages of a bible." |
