🎙️Coming up on Morning Edition : A young man who grew up on the Red Lake Reservation revolutionized snowmobile design. While working at Polaris, Andy Wells — then just 20 years old — came up with a design to move the engine from the back of the sled to the front. Polaris wanted to keep him, but Wells decided to combine his two biggest passions — engineering and helping others — to create a free apprenticeship program.
🎧Coming up at 9 a.m.: Alcohol use and misuse among women is on the rise and it's causing severe health problems for some women. MPR News host Angela Davis talks witha researcher who studies sex differences in alcohol use, and a drug and alcohol counselor who specializes in women's addiction.
A program at Minneapolis Animal Care and Control lets trained volunteers borrow a dog to go out for a run. It gets everyone — whether they have two legs or four — out for fresh air, and can give the dogs a better chance at a successful adoption.
