| Pay deal struck: Hillsborough County teachers are voting on a salary agreement that provides pay raises that are already outlined in a long-published schedule. Assuming they ratify the agreement, the school board will vote on it later this month. Latest concerns: Before the Starkey Ranch K-8 School was ever built, there were plans in place to erect a cell phone tower on the campus. Now, parents say they didn’t learn about the tower until last week. "Great victory": The city of Tampa will pay $950,000 to settle a lawsuit that successfully challenged the 2017 ordinance that barred conversion therapy on minors. Potential hunting range? Environmental citations aside, New Tampa residents are concerned that a 937-acre preserve abutting the Tampa Palms Golf and Country Club could be targeted as a future hunting ground. Two-part study: A committee has selected HR&A Advisors Inc., the same consultant that reviewed proposals to redevelop St. Pete’s Tropicana Field, will evaluate the best future use of Albert Whitted Airport. Merch truck incoming: The merchandise truck for the Taylor Swift tour, which is coming to Tampa next week, will arrive early for Swifties to get their hands on show-exclusive goodies. New spot debuts: Sesh, a new brewery and restaurant in the the former location of the Melting Pot in St. Pete opens today. Skydiving accident: A 27-year-old man, who had 1,000 prior jumps according to waiver records, died after a "hard landing" Tuesday in Zephyrhills. |
