Walz signs bill guaranteeing abortion access in Minnesota Today's big and expected news:  Effective immediately, Gov. Tim Walz has signed the PRO Act into law, guaranteeing the right to abortion in Minnesota despite any future laws challenging it. It also includes access to birth control, sterilization and family planning support. Read here Former Minnesota Sen. Dave Durenberger dies at 88 David Durenberger, who rose from central Minnesota to the United States Senate, died today. the Republican served 16 years in the Senate, earning a reputation as an expert on health care, environmental policy and other national issues.
