MPD budget cuts, State House recounts to start

The colder air will be accompanied by periods of snow into tonight — Northern Minnesota and parts of central Minnesota may see some 1 to 3 inch snow totals. New Minneapolis police chief concerned after city cuts 0.5 percent of police budget The reductions in the MPD's 2023 budget are a small portion of the $195 million proposed by mayor Jacob Frey. It would still be larger than the $187 million allocated to the department in 2022.
