View in Browser | Listen Good morning, Some 15,000 nurses with the Minnesota Nurses Association have authorized a strike, the union announced late Wednesday. The strike authorization vote required two-thirds of voting members to pass; in a press release, the union said it passed "overwhelmingly." It gives nurses at the negotiating table the ability to call a strike with 10 days' notice. 🎧 On Minnesota Now, host Cathy Wurzer checks in with MPR News health reporter Michelle Wiley about the strike authorization. What else we're watching: Feds allege 11 additional teens on payroll of slaughterhouse cleaning contractor. The U.S. Labor Department said Wednesday that investigators have found eleven additional minors hired to work overnight to clean slaughterhouses. The latest court filings bring the total number of teens alleged to have been employed by Packers Sanitation Inc. to 42.   Court approves restrictions on MPD use of force during peaceful protests. Officials with the ACLU-MN say an injunction approved by a federal court judge today will restrict the types of force Minneapolis police officers can use against peaceful protesters. Biden: Nevada site sacred to tribes to be national monument. President Joe Biden told a gathering of tribal leaders in Washington on Wednesday that he intends to designate an area considered sacred by area Native Americans in southern Nevada as a new national monument.
