Hi, MoJo Reader!
I'm Melissa, and I'm excited to be writing to you today.
For the last six months, I've been working as a digital marketing fellow with Mother Jones, and a big project of mine was spearheading the newsletter reader survey that launched before the Thanksgiving break.
I'm happy to report that almost 2,000 of your fellow Mother Jones Daily readers have taken it, and I'd like to invite you to join them and let us know how we can best serve your information needs before we close the survey at the end of the day Monday.
It's been a great learning experience working alongside the team here. Mother Jones had never done a newsletter survey like this before, and as a group of us were talking late last summer, it seemed so obvious that we should do one. So I started researching best practices, scouring countless examples, writing and rewriting questions, and keeping the team on task.
We're all delighted with the nine questions we whittled it down to. We think they will be easy to answer for you, while providing insights that are actionable for us. Here's a glimpse of what sharing your feedback will entail:
- In your own words, what do you like most about the Mother Jones Daily?
- Is there a time of day you'd prefer to receive the Mother Jones Daily?
- Does Mother Jones address issues that are relevant to you and your communities?
Sounds simple enough, doesn't it? There are only six questions beyond those, and that was the hardest part for us—making sure every question we included really mattered and came back around to our survey goal: How we can make your MoJo Daily reading experience the best we possibly can.
Please share your thoughts with us before the survey closes at the end of the day Monday. We know you're busy, so we made sure it should only take between 5 and 10 minutes. And as a thank you for your time, all participants will receive a 10 percent discount to the Mother Jones store upon completion.
It's been truly great reading through your comments and suggestions so far. We also appreciate hearing about your victories, struggles, and how the news affects and shapes your personal lives. And we'd really love to hear from as many of you as possible before we start diving into the data next week.
We're grateful for your time and feedback, and that you value the reporting you get from us and want to help us do it the best we can.
Thanks for reading,
