The undefeated Eagles are looking to stay perfect as they head into this week four game with the Jaguars. This will be Doug Petersons first game back in Philly since he and the team parted ways after the 2020 season. He has the Jaguars looking like they are on the right track, and they look like they are buying into his Philosophy's. Lets take a look at some of the big matchups we will have in this game.
The first big one is the Jaguars new addition at slot receiver Christian Kirk up against whoever the Eagles use to replace the Injured Avonte Maddox. Losing Maddox could hurt because Kirk is having a good season so far. He has 18 receptions for 267 yards through the first three games, and he has not had a game under 70 yards yet. He is lining up in the Slot about 65% of the time so we will most likely see either Josiah Scott lining up against him, or we could see Chauncey Gardner-Johnson move down to the slot, and have K'Von Wallace take most of the snaps at safety. Either way, this is not ideal and this is one of the bigger factors that we will see in the game.
Another big matchup will be Dallas Geodert against rookie linebacker Devin Lloyd. Lloyd has been named the NFL's defensive rookie of the month for September. He is playing extremely well through the first three weeks. He has 2 interceptions, 6 passes defended, and 24 tackles already. He has been really good in coverage and it will be interesting to see how well he will play against one of the best Tight Ends in the league.
The Jaguars look pretty decent to start off the year. Doug Peterson will come back into town with his troops rallied around, him ready to have a big game. If the Eagles can slow down these two players, then they should be in good shape and come out with a Win.
