WITH CASH INFUSION, AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM IS SERVING MORE ‘ALL-STARS’

The After-School All-Stars of Las Vegas expanded to Robert Lake Elementary School just three weeks ago, and already the program has a waiting list of students wanting to participate. The program pays teachers at low-income schools like Lake to stay late to tutor, lead enrichment activities and gives kids a full meal, all at no cost.

UNLV HOSTING NEW MEXICO SEEKING THIRD STRAIGHT WIN

UNLV football is riding a two-game winning streak that has them halfway to a bowl berth, and the program is looking to keep the momentum rolling on Friday night against New Mexico (8 p.m., CBS Sports Network). It’s shaping up to be one of the biggest games of the season for the Scarlet and Gray, as they’ll take the field as two-touchdown home favorites with a chance to move that much closer to postseason eligibility.
