Nurses strike for the third and final day

See that milky white sky overhead today? Western wildfires are pumping a thick smoke layer across Minnesota. 

Thankfully, the smoke plume is mostly aloft. Air quality readings here on the ground where we breathe are mostly in the good range, with a few pockets of yellow, moderate particulate readings on Minnesota Pollution Control Agency monitors. It should be gone by tomorrow.

On final day of strike, Minnesota nurses wonder what's next
"Did we shake them, being management? Because we feel shook," nurse Trisha Ochsner said outside Abbott Northwestern and Children's Minnesota in Minneapolis on Wednesday. "Did it make a difference? I don't know, we'll find out. We'll see how they act tomorrow when we show up."
 
Fungal pathogen affecting apple trees found in Minnesota for first time
The state Department of Agriculture reported Japanese apple rust was found during inspections of orchards and nurseries in Scott, Rice and Dakota counties. Surveys are being conducted to see how far the disease has spread.
