Misinformation is fueling election skepticism in Minnesota

Heavy rainfall is in the air for parts of northeast Minnesota through Friday.

Our slow-moving soggy weather system is focusing the heaviest rainfall zone across northeast Minnesota. More spotty coverage brings a chance of occasional rain and thunder to the Twin Cities and southern Minnesota through this weekend.

A flood watch continues through Friday for much of Lake and Cook counties in northeast Minnesota.

Across Minnesota, county officials are encountering people questioning the results of the 2020 election and demanding changes to the voting process, although there is no proof of widespread fraud or other problems.

What Minnesota commuters should know as railway labor deal averts strike
The tentative nationwide contract agreement with railroad workers will avert changes to passenger rail service in Minnesota. Amtrak says it's now working to restore train service that had been canceled by the potential strike — including the Empire Builder route across Minnesota.
Minnesota's unemployment rate increases slightly, but Minn. officials say hiring is still strong
Minnesota's unemployment rate ticked up slightly in August to 1.9 percent. That's up from the state's record-low 1.8 percent in July. It's still much lower than the national unemployment rate, which was 3.7 percent in August.

Minnesota faith leaders gather in St. Cloud to decry recent break-ins at mosques
Two people have been charged with burglary for allegedly breaking into the Islamic Center of St. Cloud and causing damage. Mosque officials on Thursday estimated that damage at $15,000 to $20,000. The incident was the fifth time this year a Minnesota mosque has been targeted.
