I'm linking up with Holly and Sarah for another edition of Hello Monday and I know I'm not the only one thinking - "Where did July go?"
As you are reading this, I am in a professional development. Yup, the time is here. Wahhhhh!!!!
So, let's talk about the weekend and I find myself with mostly food pics from my camera roll!
Let's go back to Thursday night...
my friend Heather and her daughter Katelyn asked me to meet them at Mojito. Katelyn will be a sophomore in college so it was fun to hear what she is looking forward to and the highlights of her freshman year.
Heather and I got mojitos, of course!
We got some guacamole and plantain chips and some queso with chorizo.
It was really fun!
Friday was a pool day for me with Erica and Elizabeth.
We ordered "pizza bones". I didn't know pizza had bones but they were amazing.
We stayed at the pool until dinner time so my family that was home and I decided to just get Fresh Market sushi.
Saturday morning I read on my deck. I finished this! I do recommend it. It was a very slow read for me and I do think it dragged at times, but I am really glad I read it.
Then, I started this and it's so cute so far! This is going by much quicker for me.
I had received a super cute sweatshirt from Target Grayson Threads line and was able to wear it Saturday morning because there was a bit of chill in the air. It is very soft, but if you get it, I would say to order up one to two sizes.
I had a college kid request chocolate chip pancakes and you know I can't refuse!
Tom and I were hoping to take our friend and her husband out on the river for her birthday but the river was fast and full of debris from all of the rain last week. So, he asked me what I wanted to do instead and I'm not going to turn down that kind of power.
We went down to NULU and went in a couple of stores.
And, I had told him how much I liked the Venezuelan fast casual place behind the Cuban place. They happened to have a live singer!
We shared guacamole and plantain chips and something called a...
cachapa which is like a corn pancake with cheese inside and whatever you want on top...
We had pork and I am really glad we shared. It was plenty.
Then, we went home and I found this movie. You know Rooster from Top Gun Maverick? Miles Teller is in this movie that I found on Prime (I think) and it is very rated R but I really enjoyed it. It was like a good ol' rom com and perfect for a Saturday afternoon.
Then, Tom and I went to Captain's Quarters and sat at the bar for dinner because a band we like was playing.
We ordered the hot brown pizza.
We were both really tired so we each ate a couple of pieces and then packed the rest up and headed home. Meanwhile, both of my kids were at Shakespeare in the Park - one working and the other watching the teen production of Much Ado About Nothing.
Sunday morning we woke up to rain and I read on the patio for a bit.
I did y own pedi and used a light lavender and put my glitter on top.
I cooked another batch of angel hair chicken alfredo for the kids to eat whenever.
I ran to Target for a return and just to peruse. My Target is being made smaller! What? It's so empty right now and everything is a mess and an employee told me they are condensing it. I hope she is wrong!
And, Sunday I ate much healthier after basically a week of lots of eating out with Tom being off. I prepared Greek bowls with cauliflower rice for us. Amy needs a routine as you can tell by the weekend indulgences...
What was the highlight of your weekend?
Please keep me in your thoughts today as I am listening to latest buzz words in education from a consultant who hasn't taught since the 80s most likely. Just kidding! I will have a good attitude, I promise!
