FETTERMAN HOPES TO HAVE BIDEN'S EAR ON CANNABIS John Fetterman, a U.S. Senate candidate in Pennsylvania, called for President Joe Biden to decriminalize cannabis, a vastly popular policy decision that's already been implemented by many states but not yet at the federal level. Fetterman told reporters he plans to talk to Biden about the issue at Pittsburgh's Labor Day Parade. [HuffPost] LEGAL TEAM ARGUES FOR TRUMP'S ABSOLUTE AUTHORITY A letter from former President Donald Trump's lawyer argues that the commander in chief can declassify whatever he wants and that the "primary" law governing the handling of U.S. classified information doesn't apply to the president himself. The letter suggests the team may use a strategy anchored around presidential powers to defend Trump against accusations of taking classified documents to his Florida home. [AP] BLAKE MASTERS SCRUBS WEBSITE OF ELECTION LIES Venture capitalist Blake Masters won the Republican nomination for Arizona's U.S. Senate race with Trump's endorsement, but now Masters has removed language from his website that supports the former president's lie that the 2020 election was stolen. Masters' campaign has similarly moderated his stances on abortion since the primary. [HuffPost] WHITE HOUSE: GRAHAM JUST PROVED BIDEN'S POINT Biden upset many members of the GOP by saying the MAGA movement and its promotion of authoritarianism was basically "semi-fascism." Sen.
