AROUND THE BAY “Listening and learning”: In a series of town hall meetings, new Pinellas County school superintendent Kevin Hendrick is seeking ideas to refine the district’s direction moving forward.   Development gets greenlight: The Pasco County Commission approved a 321-acre industrial and business park site within a 2,400-acre employment village, after land owners addressed the concerns of neighbors.   Investment firms expand: Northern Trust Corp. will move its Tampa office into a new Water Street tower, and another firm with a global portfolio has purchased 13 industrial properties in the city for nearly $37.3 million. Plus: A California company plans to open two Florida offices, one of which is in St. Petersburg.   Fleets to go electric: DeSantis announced the Florida Department of Environmental Protection will spend more than $68 million on 227 electric buses in 13 counties across the state — including three in Tampa Bay.   Shooting in Tampa: The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man late Monday on charges that he shot and killed his 5-year-old daughter and critically injured his 8-year-old son.   For the latest coronavirus news and updates, visit tampabay.com/coronavirus. Florida sues FDA: State officials filed a suit in Tampa federal court alleging the agency has not complied with a public-records request for numerous documents related to drug importation proposals submitted by Florida and other states. OPINION AND COMMENTARY Primary lessons: Hillsborough County's school tax failed. While the loss disappoints many, the close margin should be a reminder that voters have a long history of supporting their local school system, the Times Editorial Board writes.
