Dozens of Proud Boys were among the thousands who stormed the U.S. Capitol. [HuffPost] BORIS JOHNSON HANGS ON British Prime Minister Boris Johnson survived a no-confidence vote Monday with the backing of 211 out of 359 Conservative lawmakers. He won a majority, but it was still a significant rebellion against his leadership. VIDEO SHOWS ARIZONA COPS WATCHING MAN DROWN AS HE CRIED FOR HELP Three Tempe police officers have been put on paid administrative leave amid an investigation into an incident where the officers appeared to stand by and watch a man drown. Officers were questioning the man, who then entered the water and then started to struggle. The police union said officers are not trained in water rescues. [HuffPost] ELON MUSK THREATENS TO WALK AWAY FROM TWITTER DEAL Billionaire Elon Musk accused Twitter of refusing to give him information about its spam bot and fake accounts, threatening to scupper his $44 billion bid for the platform. Twitter says it intends to close the transaction as planned. [AP] NEW YORK GOV SIGNS 10 GUN REFORM LAWS New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) signed 10 gun-related bills that will bar those younger than 21 from buying or owning semi-automatic rifles, ban the purchase of body armor for most civilians and strengthen the state's red flag laws, among other provisions. It's one of the first major efforts by a state to pass new gun control legislation after a spate of mass shootings across the nation. [HuffPost] ARIZONA JUDGE REFUSES STATE GOP REQUEST TO BLOCK MOST MAIL VOTING An Arizona judge declined a request by the state Republican Party to block most mail ballots for the 2022 election, preserving the voting method used by the overwhelming majority of voters.
