Five people were killed in Tulsa, Oklahoma, a student was shot in Los Angeles and a woman was targeted at a nail salon in Pennsylvania. The $5.8 billion in debt erasure is the largest single loan discharge in Education Department history, and will impact more than 560,000 borrowers. DEPP WINS DEFAMATION LAWSUIT AGAINST AMBER HEARD A Virginia jury found primarily in favor of actor Johnny Depp in his defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard. Jurors awarded Depp $15 million in total damages that were capped by a judge at around $10 million in accordance with state limits. Heard won her own countersuit in a mixed verdict, earning $2 million in compensatory damages for one of three statements made by an attorney for Depp. [HuffPost] 'HEARTBROKEN' HEARD WILL APPEAL Just hours after the verdict, Heard said she planned to appeal.
