| Parents Still Have the Power to Protect their Children #Infographic Posted: 30 May 2022 01:52 AM PDT  Since the pandemic began in 2020, many things about our lives have changed. Now that the scares from COVID seem to be mostly behind us, some changes have stuck with us. Some of these have been for the better, however some have not. One thing that has become a high concern for most parents in the US is their children's screen time, which has more than doubled since the pandemic began. Technologically speaking, we are living in an unprecedented time with challenges that parents of all previous generations never had to face. It has become increasingly and sometimes overwhelmingly difficult to protect our children from adult content, from bullying, and simply from the negative effects of the physical brain with too much screen exposure. Where once children were faced with social pressures at school but were able to be sheltered from this within their own homes, now they are under a constant barrage to measure up and even to become overly sexualized at frighteningly early ages. Although the challenges to parents may be new and confusing, the responsibilities are still the same. Parents still must do everything within their power to protect their children's minds and innocence. Fortunately, as technology has increased, parental controls have continually improved. | How Inflation Hurts Car Owners #Infographic Posted: 29 May 2022 05:06 AM PDT  Every American suffers from high inflation rates, but some prices are going up faster than others. Take cars for example. Buying a car is difficult right now, but so is owning one. As of last March, gas prices averaged $4.29 across the nation. It takes more than $50 to fill up an average car's tank. Yet while gas prices are the most visible sign of inflation, they aren't the end of car owners' woes. Insurance prices are also creeping up. 2 of the nation's biggest firms, StateFarm and Allstate, are pursuing 4.2% and 12% rate increases this year respectively. Inflation is making a necessity a liability. How can car owners fight back? They can change their driving habits. Slower braking and less idling improve gas mileage. Safe driving can get people up to 15% discounts on car insurance. Cutting out unnecessary trips saves on both insurance and gas.
