West Ham defender, Kurt Zouma is set to appear in the dock at Thames Magistrates' Court tomorrow over the Snapchat video where he appeared to boot the feline across his kitchen.
The Frenchman is being charged with two counts of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, in a video which is alleged to have been filmed by his brother Yoan.
Yoan, 23, who plays for Dagenham and Redbridge in the National League, will also appear in court with his older brother having been charged with two counts of 'aiding and abetting' animal cruelty.
Kurt Zouma who had been fined by his club earlier in the season over the incident, is also charged with not taking reasonable steps to protect the cat from pain, suffering, injury, or disease.
West Ham fined Zouma two weeks' wages worth £250,000, though the club's response was criticised as weak when they allowed him to continue to play.
After news first broke of the RSCPA prosecution, West Ham said in a statement: "Kurt continues to cooperate fully, supported by the Club.
"It is our understanding that Kurt's cats have been checked by a vet, are in good health and have suffered no physical injuries. For legal reasons, neither Kurt or the Club will be making any further comment at this time."
The Zouma brothers are set to appear in court on Tuesday at the Thames Magistrates' Court for a first hearing.
Adidas also terminated their contract with Zouma in the aftermath of the footage emerging.
