Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo has discussed his future at the club with former boss Sir Alex Ferguson in a series of private meetings, per Sunday Mirror.
Ferguson, who first signed Ronaldo for United in 2003, was instrumental in the 37-year old re-joining the club in a £12.9 million move last summer.
The pair have always enjoyed a close relationship and it's understood that Ferguson is keen for Ronaldo to protect his legacy by staying at Old Trafford next season.
Ronaldo still has another year left on his desk, with the option of a third season. But given the current situation at the club, it's been speculated that the 5-time Ballon d'Or and five-time Champions League winner may leave this summer.
The great Portuguese has scored 24 goals for United this season, including hat-tricks against Tottenham and Norwich – performances which have attracted the attention of former club Real Madrid.
Ronaldo has so far been quiet on his future plans with incoming new manager Erik ten Hag set to replace interim boss Ralf Rangnick at Old Trafford.
