Super Eagles defender Olisa Ndah exemplary performance was not enough to save his South African club Orlando Pirates from a defeat to Morocco's RS Berkane on penalties in the final of the CAF Confederation Cup inside the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday.
The former Akwa United defender won nine (9) of the 12 duels he contested, made four (4) clearances, two (2) interceptions, two (2) tackles, blocked one (1) shot, nine (9) successful long balls, one (1) foul won.
Orlando Pirates having suffered a defeat in this competition final in 2015 and looking to win their first continental title since 1995 saw their hope dashed when Man of the Match winner, Thembinkosi Lorch, lost at penalty shootout.
After a barren 90 minutes, Thembinkosi Lorch had drawn the game level for Orlando Pirates late in the extra time to drag the game to penalties after conceding a goal just six minutes into extra time.
Berkane won the game on penalties 5-4.
