We're approaching some landmark holidays for gift giving. If you're wondering what on Earth we're talking about, it's OK. Don't panic. We know lots of people easily forget about things like Father's Day and graduation season. But the first one on deck, the one that sneaks up on you if you're not careful and makes you look the worst if you forget, is Mother's Day. That's right, Mother's Day is right around the corner, so you better mark your calendar for Sunday, May 9th, if you haven't already. But before you start frantically calling up local restaurants to see which ones aren't already booked for brunch, take breath and remember that you've still got time to get your mom a killer gift. Whether it's your own mother or another mom in your life that you want to show your appreciation for, we've got you covered. Our 2022 Mother's Day gift guide features lots of great ideas chosen by a bunch of Verge staffers who each know they're mom's favorite. Some of our recommendations are even currently on sale, so you can save ahead of the holiday. We've rounded up a few of them below, along with some additional picks just for Verge Deals subscribers. |

The Beats Fit Pro have arguably become the new darling in the world the true wireless earbuds, and for good reason. They sound great, and feature active noise cancellation and audio quality that even eclipses Apple's AirPods Pro. They're also great for exercising since their wingtip design stays in your ears nice and tight while maintaining comfort, and they look great given their range of attractive color options (black, gray, white, and pink). Their biggest downside is that their large case doesn't support wireless charging, but that hasn't stopped them from making our list of the best earbuds you can buy. If you want to treat mom with some of the best portable audio around, you can't go wrong with the Beats Fit Pro, especially if staying active is important to her. They normally retail for $199.95, and while they don't often see discounts, they're on currently sale at Amazon and Best Buy in all four colors for $179.95. That $20 discount is the best price yet on these buds. Read our review. |

The Echo Show 5 is on the smaller side when it comes to connected displays, but that just means there are more places in the house mom can choose to use it. The 5-inch display makes for a fine bedside alarm clock that showcases the weather and news when you wake up, and the device is great in the kitchen if you need help with recipes, especially if counter space is limited. And if you want to make it a little easier to keep in touch with mom, the Echo Show 5 may be able to help with its 2MP camera and support for video calls or check-ins via the Alexa app. The second-gen Echo Show 5 is currently on sale at Amazon for $44.99, its best price to date and a full $40 off its normal retail price of $84.99. That matches its lowest price during Black Friday and Cyber Monday, so you can rest easy knowing that you're getting mom a helpful and functional gift at an affordable price. Read our review. |

Does your mom love looking at your pictures on Instagram and leaving wholesome comments? Do you wish she... wouldn't do that so much? (It's ok, we all know that guilty feeling.) Well, one way to satiate any mom's thirst for family photos — or her desire to keep up on the picturesque things going on in your life — is a smart photo frame. Nixplay offers a wide variety of smart digital photo frames on its site and through retailers like Best Buy. These frames come in different sizes and designs to match all kinds of aesthetics, and look classier than the smart displays from the likes of Google and Amazon. One of the nice features of these frames is how you can remotely feed new photos to them from multiple cloud services. Nixplay also offers an optional subscription service for displaying longer videos, 50GB of cloud storage, and unlimited playlists, but free users still get 10GB and five playlists. Nixplay is currently offering 15 percent off select frames ranging in size from eight inches to a jumbo-sized 15-inch. The current promo drops the eight-inch model from $149.99 to $127.49, and it comes in black. If you want a little more variety in frame colors, the larger 10-inch frame is available in white or with a wood effect for $169.99 ($30 off). But the extra-special deal happening right now is on the 10-inch frame, which is just $118.99 today in black via Amazon's Treasure Truck. |

More deals to make mom proud |
- Now through May 1st at 2:59AM ET, Totallee is offering a site-wide buy one, get one deal on its sleek iPhone cases as well as wireless chargers, so you can match cases with your mom or just get yourself something nice on the side. Just be sure to use promo code BOGO22 to take advantage of the promo.
Best Buy is still running a Mother's Day promotion on Theragun massagers, which are currently on sale for as much as $150 off. The smallest and most affordable model, the Theragun Mini, is on sale in black or white for $159.99 ($40 off). - It's a bit cliche to buy your mom some flowers or plants for Mother's Day, but you can buck the trend in a unique way by getting her a Lego Bonsai Tree on Amazon for $40.33, which is about $10 off. If you like the idea but want something a little more equivalent to buying her flowers, the Lego Flower Bouquet is also available at Amazon for its regular price of $49.99.
- The classic Bialetti Moka Express Espresso Maker is just $34.99 ($5 off) at Target. Forget having a tea date with mom — put on a pot of espresso and mix in some Sambuca for much more fun.
- Did your mom enjoy playing the NES back in the day? If so, consider gifting her Nintendo's Game & Watch: The Legend of Zelda handheld for $42.50 ($7.49 off). The unique device comes loaded with three vintage Zelda games, including the original The Legend of Zelda. It even features a built-in, Zelda-themed clock.
- The iRobot Roomba i3 Plus EVO is currently down to $399 (about $150 off) at Amazon. This is one of the best values in robovacs right now, namely because it features smart mapping at such an affordable price. Just be sure your mom really wants the help of a self-emptying robot vacuum, because buying a vacuum for Mother's Day can be a bad look if she's not onboard with it.
