English Football commentator, Peter Drury has picked Jay Jay Okocha as his favorite Nigerian player to ever play in the English Premier League.

The Brit passion for football combined with his beautiful use of the English language has made him arguably football most loved commentator.

Drury believes the 1998 most expensive player brought something different to English football and was extraordinary doing his days.

"Jay-Jay Okocha was my favourite Nigerian player, he was wonderful because his talent was extraordinary.

"He was at a relatively small club, Bolton, and he played with this wonderful effervescence and beautiful balance on the football, and he also played with the biggest smile.

"He was so good for English football, it's 20 years ago now that we had Jay Jay doing his thing. He told Nigeria Info.

Okocha captained Bolton Wanderers to their highest-placed finish in the Premiership of eighth, as well as their remarkable run to the Carling Cup final where they lost to Middlesbrough by 2-1 in Cardiff.

They qualified for the then UEFA Cup ( now Europa League) after finishing sixth placed in the Premier League and it was their best season till date.

The Trotters qualified to the next round of the tournament after defeating Bulgarian Lokomotiv Plovdiv, eventually exiting the competition that season in the last 32 phase at the hands of French side Marseille.

Drury acknowledged that the English Premier League has been blessed with Nigeria players.

"There have been some terrific Nigerian footballers in our game. We have been very blessed with you've sent over to entertain us." He concluded.
