JUDGE TOSSES PLEA DEAL FOR ARBERY KILLER AFTER FAMILY OUTRAGE A federal judge rejected a plea deal Monday afternoon that would have allowed Travis McMichael, who is one of the men who killed Ahmaud Arbery, to avoid a federal hate crime trial. HOSPITALS PULL UNVACCINATED COVID PATIENTS OFF ORGAN DONATION LISTS Hospitals are taking patients off waiting lists for donated organs if they refuse to get vaccinated against COVID-19, saying they are following standards set by transplant organizations to give available organs to those with the best chances of survival. U.S., RUSSIA SQUARE OFF AT SECURITY COUNCIL Russia accused the West on Monday of "whipping up tensions" over Ukraine and said the U.S. had brought "pure Nazis" to power in Kyiv as the U.N. Security Council held a stormy debate on Moscow's troop buildup near its southern neighbor. It was the first session where all protagonists in the Ukraine crisis spoke openly. TRUMP TORE UP DOCUMENTS GIVEN TO JAN. 6 COMMITTEE Some documents in the National Archives from the Trump White House had been ripped up and needed to be taped back together to be given to lawmakers investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, assault on the U.S. Capitol.
