New applications are being developed everyday that add to the expanding metaverse, and many of those applications now allow for pets to join their owners, or even people without pets to have that experience. Users of platforms like MetaPets can design and own digital pets, participate in dog shows, and even generate revenue from their virtual pets. Metapets isn't restricted to only cats and dogs, users can even design and own their own horses and run in races. Other platforms like Axie Infinity rely on NFT's and can lead to some serious earning thoroughbred virtual pets. CryptoKitties i s another platform that lets users buy, collect, and breed cats and even play games and solve puzzles with other virtual pet owners. Owning can be a very fun and fulfilling experience, so why limit it to just the physical world? You probably heard people calling substance use by juveniles "experiments". A relaxed attitude to this problem is probably one of the reasons why teens' substance abuse rates are so high. You can find the numbers in this infographic. It does happen that a teenager's substance addiction starts as a mere experiment or from an occasional pill at a party. Addiction is a serious progressive disease that needs to be treated, and the sooner the better. Luckily, teenagers rehab centers that offer youth addiction recovery programs exist. Typically, a teen receives around-the-clock treatment services in residential facilities. They involve medical detox (to address a withdrawal syndrome), cognitive behavioral therapy (to find out the underlying reasons for substance abuse), and family therapy and support. | Facebook is Removing the Option of Uploading Videos as Profile Displays Posted: 30 Jan 2022 05:05 PM PST
 Facebook is taking down the functionality of using videos for profile display starting from the 7th of February. Users who have videos displayed in place of their profile images will have them reverted to photos, as per Facebook's announcement. Facebook has released a notification to its users, related to the update which informs them that if they don't replace their video displays with photos, the cover images of their videos will automatically turn to their profile images instead. Facebook originally added this functionality to its platform as a fun and engaging way for users to showcase their profile displays. Users could upload a 7-second looped video clip to their profile display to give a livelier presence to their profiles. However, the option wasn't used as widely among users and eventually began losing its value, hence Facebook reducing access to it last year by disabling some users from uploading profile videos. Now, the company has decided to take the option down entirely. The update is not much significant, considering the minimal use of the option. However, users who have enjoyed putting up videos as profile displays may be annoyed by Facebook's decision. |
