Posted: 24 Jan 2022 03:00 AM PST In the sweet song Beddy-Bye Butterfly, Lulu the Owl and Juno the Star fly around the forest saying goodnight to all their animal friends. We were so inspired by this song and thus we made a Beddy-Bye craft for you, featuring Lulu and Juno among the night sky. We've attached a ribbon for it t be hung by a bed so Lulu and Juno are there each night to say beddy-bye, and you can say beddy-bye to them before heading off to sleep. Here's how you can make it at home! Things You’ll Need
StepsPick out what color blue you would like to use for your night sky background and put it aside for later. The other shade of blue will be for the mountains. Pick a final color of construction paper to be second color among the mountains – we used a bright pink color to look like a sunset. Place the two sheets of construction paper selected for your mountains on top of each other and rip both sheets together, making 3 to 4 strips of each color. Layer the stripes starting midway down on the construction paper selected for your night sky background. Check the size of your plate you will eventually use to trace and cut out a circle from these papers you're assembling. The torn strips can go beyond the night sky piece of paper at the bottom to accommodate and make it bigger. Glue the layers together and onto the background. Trace a large plate, or something circular, to make a large circle on your papers now glued together. Cut out the circle and make a hole at the top with a hole punch. That will be for your ribbon! To make Juno The Star, start by drawing a rocketship-like shape onto your yellow piece of paper. Then draw two arcs on either side for Juno's arms. Cut out the star and draw in Juno's eyes and mouth with a black marker. To make Lulu The Owl, use the larger bottle cap (about 1 ¾") or something similiar to trace a circle onto your brown piece of paper. This will be Lulu's body! Then draw in Lulu's legs and feet. Next, trace the smaller bottle cap (about 1 ½") or something similiar twice on the same brown piece of paper. One circle will be the head, and the other will be the wings. Give one circle two ears (the head) and the draw a line dividing the other in half (the wings). Cut out the pieces and glue them together to make Lulu the Owl's body. For Lulu's face, fold a small white piece of paper in half and cut out a circle-like shape, keeping the bottom of the folded edge as part of the circle so when you unfold the paper, you have two connected circle shapes. Cut it out and glue it onto Lulu's face to make her eyes. For Lulu's beak, cut a small oval from a of yellow piece of paper. Draw in the beak's details with a black marker, the draw the eyes and the wing's feathers. Glue the Lulu the Owl and Juno The Star in place onto your night sky. Dip the tip of a pencil into white craft paint and dot it onto the night sky to make stars. Then dot the highlights in Lulu and Juno's eyes. Once everything is dry, loop a ribbon through the hole at the top to hang it on the wall. We suggest hanging your craft your Beddy-Bye craft by your bed so you can say goodnight to Lulu and Juno before heading off to sleep. Singing the lullaby Beddy-Bye Butterfly and giving Star and Owl a final goodnight is a wonderful way to end the day. We hope you sleep well, friends!
