View this email online by Suzanne Nuyen First up Nic Coury/AP Here's what we're following today: After seven days of deliberations, a jury has found Elizabeth Holmes guilty of defrauding investors out of hundreds of millions of dollars. Holmes lied about the functionality of medical devices developed by her company, Theranos. More than 3,000 flights were canceled on Monday. If your flight has been delayed, overbooked or canceled, don't worry: here's what what to do. A winter storm has blanketed much of the Mid-Atlantic, with some areas seeing a foot of snow. Federal buildings were closed in Washington, D.C., and a state of emergency was announced in parts of New Jersey. The COVID-19 pandemic is headed into its junior year. Despite a surge in cases fueled by the omicron variant, some school districts in the nation are determined to remain open.   The official death toll in Texas' deadly winter storm of 2021 has gone up, totaling 246 people. according to the Department of State Health Services. The new count includes those found after the storm passed and people who were injured during the storm, but died at a later date.
