| Hello, everyone! More than a month ago, The Dissenter Newsletter re-launched. There have been some small hiccups along the way as we figure out the site, but that has not stopped The Dissenter from publishing important journalism. We broke news around the High Court of Justice granting the United States government an appeal in the extradition case against WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. We also put out stories with personal details on NSA whistleblower Reality Winner, who was released to home confinement, and drone whistleblower Daniel Hale, who is in jail awaiting sentencing at the end of July. The Dissenter is seeking submissions from journalists and writers to expand the work that is produced. Every subscriber makes it possible to do our small part to fill the void left by a media establishment that all too frequently fails to diligently cover whistleblowers. Five thousand people subscribe to The Dissenter, but only 150 are paid subscribers. If just one percent of the newsletter's free subscribers (50 people) became monthly or annual paid subscribers, there is much more this newsletter could accomplish. Please become a subscriber today and support the kind of independent journalism that is crucial to forcing accountability and fighting corruption. Subscribe The comment system is finally fixed after a glitch. That means anyone who is a paid subscriber can now leave comments at The Dissenter website. I promise to engage in discussion with those who respond or react to what is published. We're accepting submissions from journalists and writers who want to contribute articles on whistleblowers and any related issues. If you ever have any questions about your subscription or about the newsletter itself, you may email newsletter@thedissenter.org. And we thank you all for supporting and sharing the journalism produced for The Dissenter Newsletter. Best, Kevin Gosztola Editor/Journalist |
