View this email online It’s hard to believe we’re already wrapping up the seventh year of the Tiny Desk Contest. Thank you so much to everyone who’s entered year after year: especially those of you who stuck with us when the pandemic put a hold on tour, and helped us find new ways to highlight Contest talent. And thank you to everyone who entered the Contest for the very first time this year: those of you who put yourselves out there and shared your music with us during an uncertain time.  We hope you’re able to be with loved ones this holiday season. We here on the Contest team know that music can bring people together (even virtually). Maybe you could share your Contest entry with friends and family — or you could watch a Tiny Desk holiday concert or two together.  Or, if you want to see how NPR Music has been reflecting on the year, you could check out their lists of the best music of 2021. The lists include bests of genres (see: Latin, electronic, hip-hop, classical and R&B), NPR listeners’ picks and more. And as you’re perusing the lists, you might see a familiar Contest name. We’re so proud that two-time entrant Yasmin Williams appears on the lists for The Best New Artists & Breakthroughs of 2021, How Black women reclaimed country and Americana music in 2021 and NPR Music’s 50 Best Albums of 2021.
