| Antonio Brown has plenty of incentive for strong finish |
| With a sparkling performance Sunday, Antonio Brown began the process of regaining every dime of the roughly $320,000 in salary he lost during his recent three-game suspension. In fact, Brown likely will come out ahead on the deal. After catching 10 passes for 101 yards in Sunday's 32-6 romp over the Panthers, the 33-year-old Bucs receiver has a bona fide shot at triggering up to $1 million in contract incentives, according to details of his one-year deal as broken down by spotrac.com. The deal, which he signed in May, guarantees him $3.1 million (including a $2 million signing bonus), but could be worth significantly more if he remains prolific down the stretch. With two regular season games remaining, Brown has 39 catches for 523 yards and four touchdowns. He needs 11 more catches to earn an additional $333,333, and 77 more yards to collect another $333,333. One more TD catch yields the same amount. Though sidelined (due to suspension and injuries) for nearly 2 1/2 months, Brown was targeted 15 times — more than the rest of Tom Brady's targets combined — on Sunday. The 10 catches represented his first game of double-digit catches since the 2020 regular season finale, when he had 11 receptions for 138 yards and two touchdowns in a 44-27 win over Atlanta. "That's what I do, man, that's my job," he said. "That's what I'm on the team for." |
