Heading into a Week 8 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New Orleans Saints Quarterback Jameis Winston was looking to defeat his former team. Despite New Orleans winning the game 36-27, the team will be without Winston for the rest of the season. On Monday, an MRI confirmed that Winston suffered a Torn ACL and will be out for the rest of the season. Winston suffered the injury during the second quarter against Tampa Bay.

In 6 Games Played this season, Winston has thrown for 1,114 yards, 13 touchdowns, 3 interceptions with a completion percentage of 58.9%. With Drew Brees retiring this past off-season, Winston beat out Taysom Hill to become the Starting Quarterback in New Orleans.

Even though the team lost Winston for the season, Sean Peyton has shown that he wins games with different Quarterbacks over the years. Since 2018, New Orleans has a record of 13-3 without Drew Brees under center.

Outside of games against Atlanta, Tampa Bay, and Carolina left on the schedule, New Orleans has to play Buffalo, Tennessee, Philadelphia, Dallas, New York, and Miami. With a 5-2 record so far through 8 weeks, it will be interesting to see if New Orleans can keep up the momentum throughout the rest of the season.
