The Crossover: Utah Jazz by the Numbers

The Jazz started off strong to begin the first quarter, shooting at 55 percent. After struggling against the Bulls, Donovan Mitchell shot 3-3 from beyond the arc in the first quarter and the team started off just as perfect (5-5 from three). With seven minutes left in the first quarter, the Jazz led the Bucks 18-14. The only setback in this quarter was rebounding. Utah was up 30-23 after the first quarter.

After a hot start, the Jazz shot 35 percent from the field in the second quarter. The Bucks couldn't stop the stellar Jazz offense with the half ending with a score of 57-48 with the visitors in front. The Jazz looked like a championship team in the first half. Their defense was turning into easy fast break points on the other end.

The Bucks found cracks in the Jazz defense and started to pick up offensively. They were trailing by six points (64-58) with seven minutes left in the third quarter. Guard Grayson Allen couldn't stop Mitchell from scoring. Mitchell managed to take advantage as he scored seven straight points when guarded by his former teammate. At the end of the third quarter, the Jazz continued to lead with the score being 84-69 in their favor.

To begin the fourth quarter, the Bucks went on an 8-2 run with nine minutes left in the game. The Jazz started off strong, but came out sluggish in the fourth quarter. The Bucks started to see daylight as they cut the lead to five, but Jordan Clarkson snagged the ball and raced for the easy two points. The final minutes saw the game again become a two possession game. With 90 seconds left in the game, Allen hit a clutch three point shot to cut the lead to four points.

Donovan Mitchell led the Jazz with 28 points. Behind him, Mike Conley racked up 20 points. Jordan Clarkson also chipped in 15 points off the bench.

The Gobert Double Dribble: Double Double Watch

Rudy Gobert was just one point shy of a double-double. This is the first game in this new season in which he hasn't recorded one. He finished with 13 rebounds to go along with his nine points. He was also throwing a block party as his four swats were a season high.
