The Utah Jazz fell short, losing to the Chicago Bulls 107-99, gaining their first loss of the season.

The Crossover: Utah Jazz by the Numbers

In the first quarter, the Chicago Bulls came out of the gate being aggressive with the help of Zach Lavine. The Utah Jazz started out 0-6 from beyond the arc. With three minutes left in the quarter, the Jazz lead the Bulls 16-15 despite the great perimeter defense the Bulls had. The score was 25-24 to end the first quarter.

To begin the second quarter, the offensive momentum wasn't clicking for the Jazz and they went down 38-29 with nine minutes left in the first half. The Jazz couldn't find the end of the net. Jordan Clarkson was one of eleven from the field to end the first half, which isn't normal for him. However, the Jazz found momentum to lead by three points at the half with the score at 57-54.

The momentum shifted from the Jazz to the Bulls towards the end of the third quarter. The Bulls took a 75-69 lead with a little more than than two minutes to go in the third quarter. The Jazz only scored 15 points in total in that quarter, trailing 79-72 at the end. This entire quarter was a disaster for the Jazz.

With the Bulls still fired up offensively, the Jazz were down 84-74 with nine minutes left to go in the game. Donavan Mitchell received a technical foul for clapping twice in the officials face. This game couldn't get any worse for the Jazz. The Bulls won 107-99.

The Gobert Double Dribble: Double Double Watch

Donovan Mitchell had 30 points while Rudy Gobert had 17 points and 19 rebounds. Jordan Clarkson also put up 16 points, even though he started off slow.

DeMar DeRozan led the Bulls with 32 points, while Zach LaVine had 16 points and Nikola Vucevic had 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Zach LaVine had his thumb taped up this game due to a small tear in the tendon. This injury happened when the Bulls were playing the Toranto Raptors.

The Jazz shot poorly in this game. They shot 35-92 (38 percent) from the field and 11-38 (28.9 percent) from beyond the arc compared to the Bulls who shot 39-91 (42.9 percent) and 5-21 (23.8 percent) from three.

The problem in this game was turnovers. The Jazz had 20 turnovers in total while the Bulls had nine turnovers. The Jazz had more rebounds, blocks, points in the paint and drew more fouls, but still couldn't secure the win.

Utah's record is now (4-1) which isn't bad and the they still have a long season to go. Can the Jazz bounce back from this defeat?
