Is Kratom Legal On The State And Federal Levels? #Infographic

Is Kratom Legal On The State And Federal Levels?

Kratom, botanically known as Mitragyna speciose, is a tropical, deciduous, evergreen tree classified under the coffee family. In the Southern and Eastern Asian countries, it has been used as herbal medicine since the 19th century. But is it legal in the United States?

In general, kratom is legal in the US. However, it is not yet regulated on a federal level. This means that kratom products are not checked by any government body and have no quality or safety guarantees. If you choose to use it for either medical or recreational purposes, you can do it at your own risk.

The given infographic presents the kratom legality map. As you can see, four states have passed the Kratom Consumer Protection Act that helps to regulate the industry and keep users safe. However, due to its high abuse potential, AddictionResource authors don't encourage anyone to buy it. The herb has a long list of potential side effects. It includes loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, dizziness, constipation, sweating, etc. Mitragyna speciosa's leaves contain compounds that provide psychotropic effects. That's why hallucinations and delusions are also possible. Using it longer than 2 or 3 weeks puts you at a serious risk of developing addiction.

Spotify Boasts Rise in Number of Subscribers, Active Users, and Revenue

Posted: 31 Oct 2021 10:57 AM PDT

Spotify just announced that it now has 72 million paid subscribers and 381 million monthly active users, which is a 19% year-over-year increase. This suggests that Spotify is currently leading the global music streaming industry.

Moreover, in this quarter, Spotify's average revenue per user increased to around $5.03, which is a 4% year-over-year rise. The company also managed to recover a loss of €101 million from the previous year, with a profit of €2 million up.

In addition to this, Spotify's podcast service contributed to the rise in the company's total revenue, as its podcast audience continues to grow. Spotify's podcast share of overall consumption hours reached an "all-time high" this quarter. There are now 3.2 million podcasts on Spotify and it has become the number one platform for podcasts used the most by US listeners.

The rise in numbers for Spotify is surprising, considering that the platform didn't put out much for its users this quarter, except for some minor tweaks to its service.

Twitter Makes Super Follows Available to All iOS Users

Posted: 31 Oct 2021 09:03 AM PDT

Twitter's Super Follow feature is now accessible to all iOS users, that can be used for drawing income from top fans. Twitter launched Super Follows in a beta test in September, allowing users to set a monthly subscription fee up to $9.99, to make money from providing additional content exclusively to their most engaged followers, the Super Followers.

The feature is part of Twitter's broader plan of providing more incentive for creators on its platform and increasing engagement and interaction across its app.

Twitter is also currently working on other new monetization options, including On Profile Tipping, Ticketed Spaces, and Spark Spaces Funding. Ticketed Spaces is available to users in the US who have more than 1,000 followers and have hosted at least 3 Spaces in the last 30 days. The Spaces Funding on the other hand, is Twitter's initiative for providing selected participants with $2500 per month to support the growth of their audio social content.

Moreover, Twitter has added the option of Revenue Newsletter Links for creators to promote their subscription-based offerings on their profile and in tweets directly.

While Twitter is still figuring out ways to implement its Super Follows monetization program effectively, data collected from app analytics provider Sensor Tower in the last month suggests that the feature could only generate around $6,000 in the US, and around $600 in Canada, after its first two weeks of availability. Ticketed Spaces and On Profile Tipping have also received minimal response from users in their early phases.

Nevertheless, Twitter is not giving up on its efforts. The company has recently worked on bringing more attention to Spaces, by dedicating a separate section to Spaces in the explore tab, where trending Spaces would be highlighted. This could ultimately boost engagement with Ticketed Spaces as well.
