Since he put together a successful summer AAU campaign, George Washington III has seen both his recruitment and his ranking start to take off. The Christian Academy of Louisville star has been identified as one of the top targets for the Louisville Cardinals in the 2023 class. Recently, Washington received a boost in ESPN's Top-60, and is now ranked as the 25ht-best prospect in the country.

The 6-foot-2 combo guard has received offers from Louisville, Ohio State, Auburn, Western Kentucky, and Cincinnati; with interest coming from other programs as well. Washington is an advanced three-level scorer with exceptional intangibles (feel for the game, court vision, etc). His ball-handling and shot creation abilities make him a tough matchup for opposing defenders, despite him not possessing elite athleticism.
In the CSZ interview linked above, Washington explained that he was taking his time in the recruiting process and getting to know various coaches and programs, but that Louisville was in the top group and recruiting him the hardest.
"The Louisville staff has been great", he said. "I talk to coach (Kahil) Fennell and Coach Mack. They've been to almost every single one of the games. The staff has been watching since Collins tournament and my team went to the Louisville camp. I've been around them a lot."
The 2021-22 season will be a big one for Washington both in terms of overall development and recruiting. Just like Male's Kaleb Glenn, Washington is a name that Cardinal fans need to get to know quickly.
