State Fair accepting exhibit entries through Sept. 1  As it gears up for its October return to the midway, South Carolina's largest annual event is accepting exhibit entries showcasing the state's best agriculture, arts, crafts, flowers and livestock through Sept. 1.  More than 1,600 claims filed in final week of federal benefits Greenville County saw 153 initial unemployment claims, while Richland County had 147 and Charleston County 131. The week ending June 26 was the last for S.C. claimants to receive federal unemployment program benefits. Nonprofit professionals launch consultancy Calloway Stern Group, based in Charleston, aims to help small- to medium-sized nonprofits accomplish tasks to increase capacity in a fiscally responsible manner. The company is co-founded by Katy Calloway and Daniel Stern.
