Either way, we found ourselves in a unique position to capture a socially charged and exceptional live session with the Boston-based STL GLD. In this session, the hip-hop supergroup performs new music plus songs from their critically-acclaimed The New Normal from the GBH parking garage roof deck. STL GLD—made of Moe Pope, The Arcitype, Christopher Talken, Jonathan Ulman, and Tim Hall—continually pushes beyond hip-hop traditions with genre-bending compositions that speak to our times' complex cultural and economic issues. In 2019 they debuted The New Normal at the Museum of Fine Arts as a pop-up listening session, making that statement that hip-hop is a valuable artform seeped in a history of resistance and resilience.
